I think my TBR Pile growled at me

remember, you get +5 for commenting on this post and an entry to win $5 Amazon GC
I think I pissed my TBR Pile off because I haven't made a dent in it for a while. I've had some free time lately to read, but every time I go to grab a book off my bookshelf, I can't choose which one to read. Can you guys help me pick?

So which one should I read first?
*The one on top of City of Bones and Vampire Diaries is Kiss of Death (Morganville Vampires Series) and the one on top of Bleeding Violet and Going Bovine is Taken by Storm

I have that problem and have starting using Random.org to choose the book for me lol!

I would say The Iron King or Bleeding Violet (but only becaue I've read them). A good portion of the rest are on my to-read list.

That is A LOT of great books...no wonder you are having a hard time choosing. My pick is for The Iron King...that was a great read.

I never though of using Random.org.......I might have to do that from now one =D

The Iron KIng and Need are great.

Adriana said...

Yeah, that's a hard choice since you have so many awesome books!
I've read The Iron King, Chasing Brooklyn, Bleeding Violet, Looking for Alaska, and Going Bovine. All of those were really good.

I guess it really depends on what you're in the mood for. Sorry I didn't help much. You should start with Chasing Brooklyn since it's in verse and you could finish that really quick.

Read City of Bones or Dead Tossed Waves.

You have so many interesting books there, no wonder you're having a hard time choosing. I usually do one of two things: pull out 3 or 4, then close my eyes and point (that's right, I learned this method in elementary school, haha)... or I'll go to whichever has been in my stack the longest.

Here, I'll help. X D 3 options: Dead-Tossed Waves, Iron King & Inside Out. Now you just have to put those on the floor, spin in a circle & point. : ) With your eyes closed of course.

Or, like Page (One Book At a Time) said... you could use Random.org... it's the same thing but doesn't involve dizziness or the possibility of running into furniture. : D

I feel your pain..lol

My problem is I have books that I need to review and books that I bought because I want to read them (even though I will review them too)

My Fun reads pile is starting to growl at me..lol

You have a lot of really good books in your pile and if I would pick one it would be The Iron King, I want to read that one badly..I have ordered it but not got it yet. :)

Wow, you got some pretty great books there! If you need any help reading them, I'd love to help you out! ;p

I'd go for City of Bones or Chasing Brooklyn, or maybe Bleeding Violet.

I would definitely say City of Bones. It was such a great read!

I don't know if this would work for you, but this is how I choose my books: I write the titles of all the books in my TBR pile on separate little sheets of paper. Then I fold them up and put them in my cute little "book box." Every time I want to start a new book, I choose a random scrap of paper from there and that's what I read. Anytime I buy a new book I add the title to the box.

At least your TBR pile isn't scary. last time I checked mine there was 150 books in it o.0

I would suggest City of Bones and Need

Whoa lots of books. I always just read the books that are sent to me for review first and then work on my other ones :)

I just read Bleeding Violet and I LOVE it. You can read it in any mood. I also really really liked City of Bones. I've heard Looking for Alaska is fabulous though. But my final recommendation is Bleeding Violet all the way!

Dead Tossed Waves or The Iron King are supposed to be really good. City of Bones has quite the following so I'm sure that will be good too. So many good books it's hard to choose.

Christa: I actually have tried your method, but I pick up the book I chose, and then I read one page, glance over at the other books, grab one of those, read the first page, get antsy because the other ones look sooo good also........then I just give up and go book browsing on Amazon lol. It's a bad cycle that leads to me buying more books that will end up in my endless TBR Pile.
Ladystorm: glad to know I'm not the only one with an angry TBR Pile! I hope you find the time to read your Fun books soon!
Amber Skye: that actually sounds like a really good method. I might have to try it out too.
Tynga: These aren't the only books in my TBR Pile. I have about 5 shelves full of them!

Thanks everyone else for your suggestions!

Hm, I've read:
City of Bones
The Lonely Hearts Club
Need
and Taken By Storm
All were really good.
I would start with The Lonely Hearts Club if you just want something short and cute,
if not City Of Bones is the best in my opinion.
And Going Bovine is sitting on my shelf, I was actually just about to start it (:

I know the feeling. I've borrowed some books from friends, there's some books on the way that I've recently ordered, and I got a couple on hold at the library. Once I've finished my ms and it's out with my beta readers, then I can catch up on my reading...I hope. :)

A Blue So Dark or Inside Out, so you can tell me how they are:)

You should read Iron King. I haven't read it, but a lot of people seemed to like it. I've read Going Bovine and Dreaming Anastasia, but neither one was super duper amazing. My tbr pile only has three books in it. :( I need to go to the library soon...

Lots of good books there but I would say City of Bones. You really need to read The Mortal Instruments series. It's my absolute favorite. I LOVEEEE it!! :)

Dead Tossed Waves--It's SO good. And Iron King is good too =) Lucky you with all those awesome books!

I'd say...CITY OF BONES!!!

Let me just say that most of those books are on my wishlist, so I really don't know which one you should read first. But Iron King and Inside Out are looking cool, so maybe those two! :)

WoW, you guys are so creative at picking what books to read!!! Jeez, it didn't even occur to me to actually find an easy way to pick! I normally stare at my books, then stare at them some more, then get frustrated because, well, they all look great (which is why I bought them in the first place :P), then find that, well, in the time I've spent deciding, I could be half-way through a book already!

I'd start with City of Bones (it is excellent!!! you'll get so caught up in this series :D), then I'd read Need (it's also great :) ... and Iron King, everyone loves that one, although I haven't read it yet.

Okapi said...

Ah..jealous! Lots of good books. If I were you, I'd read The Iron King, because I've heard so much positive hype. If you read the Looking for Alaska book, tell me how it is! I want to know if I should read it. I also want to read the City of Bones! Going Bovine was a good book, but maybe you should save it for later if you want to get through your books, since it's a little on the long side. It wasn't the best, but it was good :).

Flo said...

that's a pretty big TBR pile for sure; what about bleeding violet for your next read 8)

EVA SB said...

I tried to help but after looking over that fantastic pile of books I had the same dilemma.
I suggest writing all the names in pieces of paper and pulling them out of a hat.

Have fun!

Tina said...

I understand you, I'm always insecure when I have to pick a book haha, but you MUST read city of Bones, Oh GOD I really enjoy the Mortal Instruments series, it's amazing!

Hannah S said...

Lucky!
Your TBR pile is huge, which is exactly what I love!
I've read a good half of what's included in the picture, and they were all great, so I'm afraid I can't help you too much with this.
City of Bones is fantastic, so I'll say check that out!
But hell, they all are!
Happy reading!
Love, Hannah

Oooh I'm so jealous! I want to have a TBR pile as big as yours! : ) I think that you should read The Iron King first, I've heard rave reviews about it.

Read City of Bones!! :)

Close your eyes and choose one at random. Or start with City of Bones ;)

Oooh so many of those are on my TBR list, too! I've been craving The Iron King so badly, and The Dead-Tossed Waves.
